Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a leading cause of lower extremity amputations among persons with diabetes (PWD) and a common cause of hospitalizations. This study identified demographic characteristics, lab values, and comorbidities associated with 30-day and 90-day hospital readmission in persons with DFU. A retrospective chart review at our institution examined 397 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted with DFU between January 2014 and December 2018.

Background: Conflicting reports exist regarding the racial and the gender distribution of rheumatoid arthritis-related interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD). In a major population study of predominately Whites, RA-ILD was reported mainly among smoker middle-aged men. However, recent data suggest that the disease is that of elderly women.

This narrative article aims to review research within the past 5 years, focusing on chronotype, light, noise, and neighborhood disparities in relation to sleep in people with T2DM.

Recent Findings: Sleep quality and duration have been shown to impact glycemic control in patients with T2DM.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients have nearly twice the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared to the general population. We aimed to assess, in a predominantly Black population, the prevalence of traditional and RA-specific CVD risk factors and therapeutic patterns. Utilizing ICD codes, we identified 503 RA patients ≥18 years old who were seen from 2010 to 2017.
