Traditionally, public health surveillance relied on individual-level data but recently wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) for the detection of infectious diseases including COVID-19 became a valuable tool in the public health arsenal. Here, we use WBE to follow the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Rochester, Minnesota (population 121,395 at the 2020 census), from February 2021 to December 2022. We monitored the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infections on public health by comparing three sets of data: quantitative measurements of viral RNA in wastewater as an unbiased reporter of virus level in the community, positive results of viral RNA or antigen tests from nasal swabs reflecting community reporting, and hospitalization data.

We present the case of a 32-year-old man with a history of migraines and a 2-week history of bilateral neck pain who was found to have bilateral Vertebral Artery dissection by CT angiography. The patient's stroke's etiology was spontaneous dissection followed by thromboembolism caused by bilateral Posterior Cerebral Artery (P1) occlusion.

Understanding protein-protein interactions and formation of reversible oligomers (clusters) in concentrated monoclonal antibody (mAb) solutions is necessary for designing stable, low viscosity (η) concentrated formulations for processing and subcutaneous injection. Here we characterize the strength () of short-range anisotropic attractions (SRA) for 75-200 mg/mL mAb2 solutions at different pH and cosolute conditions by analyzing structure factors (()) from small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations. Best fit simulations additionally provide cluster size distributions, fractal dimensions, cluster occluded volume, and mAb coordination numbers.
