The objective of the present study was to develop a novel molybdenum disulfide/iron oxide/gold nanorods (MoS/FeO/GNR) nanocomposite (MFG) with different concentrations of AgNO solution (MFG1, MFG2, and MFG3) for topical doxorubicin (DOX) drug delivery. Then, these nanocomposites were synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Dynamic light scattering (DLS), and Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopies to confirm their structural and optical properties. Cytotoxicity of samples on Hela cell was determined using MTT assay.

Article Synopsis
  • Flavonoids like myricetin (Myr) have anti-cancer properties, and researchers created Myr-loaded PEGylated niosomes (Myr-PN) for drug delivery to tumors.
  • Myr-PN was characterized for size (241 nm) and zeta potential (-32.7 mV) using various scientific methods, showing favorable properties for targeting cancer cells.
  • In tests, Myr-PN was found to be more toxic to cancer cells than to normal cells, inducing apoptosis in a significant portion of treated cancer cells, highlighting its potential as an effective anti-cancer treatment that requires further investigation.

Background: Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) is defined by a clustering of metabolic abnormalities associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. There has been an increasing interest in the associations of genetic variant involved in diabetes and obesity in the FABP1 pathway. The relationship between the rs2241883 polymorphism of FABP1 and risk of MetS remains unclear.

We aimed to study the relation between plasma levels of stress-induced heat shock protein 70 (HSPA1A) with plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), apolipoprotein A1 (Apo-A1), and HDL-C/Apo-A1 ratio. In a matched case-control study on patients with diabetes (40 patients with albuminuria and 40 without albuminuria matched for age, sex, and body mass index), we observed that plasma levels of HSPA1A and PAI-1 are increased in patients with albuminuria (0.55 ± 0.
