Introduction: The standardization of reporting in clinical laboratories, particularly regarding Serum Protein Electrophoresis (SPEP) and Urine Protein Electrophoresis (UPEP), is crucial for effective communication of findings to clinicians and optimal patient management. However, in countries like Pakistan with limited healthcare resources and a prevalent self-payment model, challenges arise in achieving standardized reporting practices. This manuscript addresses the need for standardized guidelines for protein electrophoresis reporting in Pakistan, aiming to enhance laboratory practices and patient care.

Perioperative immunonutrition intervention on postoperative outcomes among gynecological cancer patients under enhanced recovery after surgery setting: A study protocol of explanatory mixed method study.

Background & Aims: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) has shown significant improvements in postoperative outcomes and a reduction in complications, while immunonutrition (IMN) has been shown to modulate the immune system and inflammatory response. However, many studies have overlooked the crucial aspects of nutrition status and patient perception within the intervention approach. This study aims to investigate the efficacy and explore patients' acceptance of the IMN intervention in postoperative outcomes among gynecological cancer (GC) patients under the ERAS framework.

Methods: A retrospective case series study was conducted at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences, Lahore from August 2022 to July 2023. Seventy seven patients meeting the inclusion criteria of age group 20-65 years, ruptured saccular aneurysm of anterior circulation with or without lamina terminalis fenestration during clipping, were enrolled through non-probability convenience sampling.

A Longitudinal Study of Psychological Distress Among Youth in Peninsular Malaysia and Associated Factors.

The prevalence of mental health problems among youth worldwide is alarming and a public health concern. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of psychological distress (PD) among youth at two time points, ages 15 and 20 years, and to identify groups that are particularly vulnerable to PD. Utilizing data from the Malaysian Health and Adolescents Longitudinal Research Team study, we analyzed a cohort of 416 participants who underwent mental health assessments in 2014 and 2019/2020.

The risk of under-nutrition in hospitalised Malaysian children: Use of 3-minute nutrition screening-paediatrics (Paediatric 3-MinNS).

(Ylang-Ylang) Essential Oil Containing Nanoemulgel for the Topical Treatment of Scalp Psoriasis and Dandruff.

This research aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a nanoemulgel (NE) containing (Ylang-Ylang) oil for managing scalp psoriasis and dandruff through various assessments. The study involved phytochemical screening, characterization, stability testing, in vivo performance evaluation, dermatokinetic analysis, central composite rotatable design (CCRD) optimization, in vitro release profiling, and antioxidant and antimicrobial activity assessment of the NE. The NE exhibited excellent stability and maintained physical parameters over a three-month period.

Introduction: Fabry's disease (FD) is a genetic lysosomal storage disorder characterized by α-galactosidase A (α-Gal A) lost/reduced activity. We aim to systematically assess the safety and efficacy of Migalastat, an oral pharmacological chaperone, that has been approved for the treatment of FD in patients with amenable mutations.

Methods: We conducted literature search following the PRISMA guidelines in major databases up to 4 February 2024, for studies that assessed the clinical outcomes of migalastat in patients with FD.
