In recent years, numerous dermatological image databases have been published to make possible the development and validation of artificial intelligence-based technologies to support healthcare professionals in the diagnosis of skin diseases. However, the generation of these datasets confined to certain countries as well as the lack of demographic information accompanying the images, prevents having a real knowledge of in which populations these models could be used. Consequently, this hinders the translation of the models to the clinical setting.

Crusted scabies is a clinical variant of classical scabies, which is an infestation of the skin by the mite Sarcoptes scabie, Infrequent with high mite burden, usually in people with reduced cellular immunity or elderly long-term care residents. Cutaneous findings are erythematous patches, with prominent scales, usually located in hands, feet, scalp, face and trunk. The aim of this report is to describe dermatological findings of this clinical variant, the diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Phaeohyphomycosis is an infrequent infection in human beings. However, in recent years, its prevalence has augmented in immunosuppressed patients (mostly in solid organ transplanted patients). Infection can be mucocutaneous or disseminated.
