Synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis (SAPHO) syndrome, a rare disorder with a spectrum of manifestations and overlapping osseous and cutaneous symptoms, shares pathogenesis with various autoimmune diseases. SARS-CoV-2 has been previously linked to various autoimmune diseases like Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a multi-inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), or rheumatoid arthritis, but there is no existing work showing a link between SAPHO syndrome and COVID-19 yet. Here, we present a case of a middle-aged Asian male who presented with minimum swelling of his right second toe, 21 days post-COVID.

Neoplasms of the small bowel are relatively rare, with less than 5% occurrence among other GI cases. Primary adenocarcinoma, an aggressive sub-type of small bowel cancers, usually presents with vague blood loss and abdominal pain symptoms, causing a delayed diagnosis at an advanced stage of the disease and a poor prognosis. The preferable treatment of choice is surgical resection with chemotherapy, which has shown to have survival benefits.

The current meta-analysis aims to explore the effect of metformin use on vitamin B12 deficiency in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and the factors associated with it. This meta-analysis followed the Meta-analysis Of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) guidelines and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. We searched PubMed and EMBASE from January 1, 2010, to October 31, 2022, to collect the studies that reported the effect of metformin on the deficiency of vitamin B12 in patients with T2DM and the factors associated with it.
