In over 80% of cases, primary hyperparathyroidism results from hypersecretion of PTH by a single parathyroid adenoma. Multi-glandular involvement, combining adenoma and/or hyperplasia in varying proportions, is also possible, although less frequent. When the diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism is certain and surgery is envisaged, imaging is useful for locating the hyperfunctioning gland or glands.

Objective: Testosterone concentrations, albeit rarely, may be in the normal range (>3.0 ng/mL) in men with a prolactin-secreting pituitary adenoma (PSPA-nt). The evolution of total, bioavailable testosterone, gonadotropin levels, and that of graded symptoms of testosterone deficiency (TD) are uncertain in these patients.

If not adequately treated, GH and IGF-I excess is associated with various cardiovascular risk factors. These symptoms mainly include hypertension and impaired glucose metabolism, which can be observed in approximately one-third of patients.

However, thyroid nodules may sometimes be confused with PPGs. PARATH-US study aims at identifying US characteristics to differentiate PPGs from thyroid nodules, as there is no study, at present, which directly compares the US features of these two common neoplasms.

One possible explanation for this increased LV mass could be water retention and subsequent myocardial edema.
Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, 26 patients with active acromegaly before and after treatment and 31 controls of comparable age and sex were investigated using cardiac MRI.

Unlabelled: In the present study, we highlight surgical tips based on our experience in lower eyelid blepharoplasty. These have been shown to be crucial in the prevention of several complications, specifically lateral lower-lid displacement.
Methods: A series of bilateral lower-lid blepharoplasties were performed on 280 patients at Humanitas-Research-Hospital (Milan, Italy) between January 2016 and January 2020.
The association of hypogonadism and cerebellar ataxia was first recognized in 1908 by Gordon Holmes. Since the seminal description, several heterogeneous phenotypes have been reported, differing for age at onset, associated features, and gonadotropins levels. In the last decade, the genetic bases of these disorders are being progressively uncovered.

Its clinical use is limited by adverse effects on glucose homeostasis. The aim of this study was to evaluate longitudinal changes in beta-cell function and insulin sensitivity associated with pasireotide in patients not controlled by first-generation SRLs.

Context: In men with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH), gonadotropin deficiency and testicular impairment exist since fetal development and persist throughout life. In a few reported cases of acquired HH (AHH), HH onset occurs mainly post pubertally.
Objective: This work aimed to compare the natural history and reproductive status in large series of CHH and lesional AHH evaluated in a single expert academic center.
Context: The measurement of parathyroid hormone(PTH) in situ (PTHis) by fine-needle aspiration (FNA) has been proposed as a tool to preoperatively help localize parathyroid glands detected on ultrasound. However, the accuracy of PTHis is highly variable according to the few available studies.
Aim: We aimed to develop and validate the PTHis procedure and assessed the performance of PTHis in a large series of patients with hyperparathyroidism and/or undetermined cervical lesions.

Unlabelled: Abdomen reshaping is a common plastic surgery procedure, and numerous surgical techniques have been described in the scientific literature. To standardize surgical approach, we propose our protocol that correlates patients' anatomy with the type of procedure performed.
Methods: Between 2008 and 2020, we retrospectively analyzed 582 consecutive female patients who underwent abdomen reshaping procedures, assessing anatomical features, complication rate, patient satisfaction, and surgical result, comparing them with previous reports in the literature.
Background: Acromegaly is associated with changes in body composition. Long-term changes following acromegaly treatment and the impact of different treatments have been less investigated.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study in 201 patients with acromegaly.
Background: Smell and taste dysfunctions (STDs) are symptoms associated with COVID-19 syndrome, even if their incidence is still uncertain and variable.
Aims: In this study, the effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection on chemosensory function have been investigated using both a self-reporting questionnaire on smell and flavor perception, and a simplified flavor test.
Methods: A total of 111 subjects (19 hospitalized [HOS] and 37 home-isolated [HI] COVID-19 patients, and 55 healthy controls [CTRL]) were enrolled in the study.
