Alzheimer's disease (AD) is popularly believed to be triggered by the aggregation of amyloid beta 1-42 (Aβ - 42) peptides, eventually leading to neurodegeneration. Our study delves into the influential role played by Green Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (GIONP). GIONP are typically synthesized using a green chemistry approach, imposing curcumin as a biocompatible reducing and capping agent, leveraging its inherent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective attributes.

Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an acquired autoimmune disorder characterized by an isolated decrease in platelets below 100 × 10/l after the exclusion of other conditions associated with thrombocytopenia. We investigated the role of different memory T-cell subsets, including T stem cell memory (T), in children diagnosed with primary ITP and its association with therapeutic duration. This case-control study included 39 pediatric patients with acute ITP admitted to the Children's Hospital at Assiut University.

The objectives of this study were to identify the frequency and severity of aplastic anemia in children infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) as well as recognize the response to treatment.
Methodology: 13 children with newly diagnosed severe aplastic anemia were enrolled in this prospective clinical trial.
Scientific Backgrounds: Development of nanostructured biodegradable alloys has generated a great deal of interest in the recent years as they offer promising bioactive materials for reconstruction of bony defects following traumatic fractures or surgical excision of tumors.
Objectives: The aim of the current study was to investigate the biocompatibility of Iron-Manganese -based alloys (Fe-Mn) with addition of copper (Cu), Tungsten (W) and cobalt (Co) to obtain 3 different alloys namely, Fe-Mn-Cu, Fe-Mn-W, and Fe-Mn-Co on normal oral epithelial cell line, and their possible anticancer effect on MG-63: osteosarcoma cell line.
Materials And Methods: The sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay was used to assess cell viability percentage of both cell lines after exposure to discs of the proposed experimental alloys.
Objective: To investigate the healing efficacy of topical enhanced by shockwave or ultrasound therapy on wounds in rats and compare both effects.
Method: A total of 75 male albino rats were randomly divided into equal groups A, B, C, D and E. Under anaesthesia, a wound (6cm2) was created on the back of each rat.
Odontogenic infections are common and self-limiting in most cases; however, they can lead to severe consequences, considerable morbidity and can even be fatal despite modern medical therapy. This retrospective study included patients with severe deep fascial space infections treated in the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, General Surgery Department, Faculty of Medicine, Sohag University, Sohag Governorate, Egypt, and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, King Fahd Specialist Hospital (tertiary referral center), Burayda City, Qassim Province, Saudi Arabia, from June 2017 to June 2022. This study included 296 patients, 161 (54.

Intraperitoneal injection of paclitaxel 2 mg/kg body weight, two days/week on the 2nd and 5th days of each week, with or without oral administration of naringin and/or naringenin 10 mg/kg body weight every other day, was continued for six weeks. Treatment of rats with naringin and/or naringenin significantly reversed elevated serum creatinine, urea, and uric acid levels caused by paclitaxel, reflecting improved kidney function.

The acute larvicidal activity of isolated compounds; namely, palmatine, jatrorrhizine, columbamine, β-sitosterol, and Annickia chlorantha methanolic extract (AC), was observed. Developmentally, the larval duration was significantly prolonged when palmatine and β-sitosterol were applied, whereas the pupal duration was significantly prolonged for almost all treatments except palmatine and jatrorrhizine, where it shortened from those in the control.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTicks are of great economic importance worldwide, both because they represent major obstacles to livestock productivity and because of their ability to transmit diseases to humans and animals. Although synthetic acaricides are the most common method for tick control, their overuse has led to the development of resistance as well as unacceptable residual levels in animal products and in the environment in general. There is therefore an urgent need to identify alternative treatments.

Medicinal plant extracts and their metabolites are an attractive source for such products. This study investigated the insecticidal activity of five essential oils extracted from the most common medicinal herbs in Jazan province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Despite the current vaccination momentum, thousands of people die every day by COVID-19. Suggesting possible blockers of the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase is highly needed for potential effective therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2.

Hence, to know the reliability of MBD in reducing the need for extensive surgery.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinic pathological data of 48 patients with early oral cancer.
Deltamethrin is a widely used insecticide that kills a wide variety of insects and ticks. Deltamethrin resistance develops as a result of intensive, repeated use, as well as increased environmental contamination and a negative impact on public health. Its negative impact on aquatic ecology and human health necessitated the development of a new technique for environmental remediation and wastewater treatment, such as the use of nanotechnology.

This network meta-analysis (NMA) aimed to guide surgeons selecting which vascularized osseous flap is associated with the highest survival rate for mandibular reconstruction.
Methods: From inception to March 2021, PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane library were searched to identify the eligible studies.
Objectives: Current diagnostic tests for tuberculosis (TB) in children living in low-endemic countries are limited by low specificity and the inability of the current tests to differentiate between active TB and latent TB infection (LTBI). This study aimed to evaluate the blood IP-10 mRNA expression level to detect LTBI in Egyptian pediatric household contacts (PHC).
Methods: TB-specific IP-10 and IFN-γ mRNA levels were assessed by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) in 72 Egyptian PHC of active pulmonary TB cases.
Background: SARS-CoV-2 is a newly emerged human coronavirus that severely affected human health and the economy. The viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) is a crucial protein target to stop virus replication. The adenosine derivative, remdesivir, was authorized for emergency use 10 months ago by the United States FDA against COVID-19 despite its doubtful efficacy against SARS-CoV-2.
