Prophylactic hypogastric arterial ligation before cesarean hysterectomy for controlling complications in pregnant women with placenta adherent abnormality: A randomized controlled clinical trial.

Background: Placenta adherent abnormality (PAA) is abnormal attachment of the placenta to the myometrium. This abnormal placenta binding has severe clinical consequences for the mother and the fetus. We investigated the outcomes of hypogastric arterial ligation (HAL) before hysterectomy compared to hysterectomy alone in pregnant women with PAA.

An aortopathy dilemma in pregnancy: A rare case report.

Background: The most dramatic diseases in the aorta are aortic dissection and aneurysm, which both of them are common in pregnant women with Marfan syndrome (MFS). According to recommendations in existing guidelines, pregnancy is not recommended in patients with severe dilation of the aorta and patients with MFS with aortic dilation > 45 mm should have prophylactic aortic repair before pregnancy.

Case Report: In this rare and unique report, we described a 34-year-old pregnant woman with marfanoid feature who had an approximate aortic root of 60 mm and severe aortic insufficiency.

The efficacy of preventive parasternal single injection of bupivacaine on intubation time, blood gas parameters, narcotic requirement, and pain relief after open heart surgery: A randomized clinical trial study.

Background: Postsurgical pain usually results in some complications in the patients. This study has tried to investigate the effects of parasternal single injection of bupivacaine on postoperative pulmonary and pain consequences in patients after open heart surgery.

Methods: In a prospective double blind clinical study, 100 consenting patients undergoing elective open heart surgery were randomized into two groups.

Mycotic aneurysm of the ulnar artery.

Context: Mycotic aneurysm of the ulnar artery is extremely rare. We report a case of mycotic aneurysm of the ulnar artery due to subacute bacterial endocarditis (SBE) presenting with a painful pulsatile mass in hypotenar region.

Case Report: In a 39-year-old man, treated as a case of SBE, a painful progressive pulsatile mass appeared in the left hypotenar region.

Early chest tube removal after coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

Background: There is no clear data about the optimum time for chest tube removal after coronary artery bypass surgery.

Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of the chest tube removal time following coronary artery bypass grafting surgery on the clinical outcome of the patients.
