Coronary artery ectasia (CAE) is an abnormal dilatation of coronary artery segments, often linked with atherosclerosis. This report discusses two cases of CAE presenting as acute coronary syndrome. A 36-year-old man had proximal blockage in the left circumflex artery (LCx) and ectasia in the obtuse marginal artery and left anterior descending artery (LAD), while a 53-year-old male smoker had an ectatic LAD with a substantial thrombus.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a complex cardiovascular disease. Effective management typically involves four main medications: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors/angiotensin receptor blockers, beta-blockers, angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, along with sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i). The primary objective of this article is to assess and identify the utilization of four-pillar regimen for HF managment and explore the characteristics of the patients being on the four-pillar regimen in Jordan.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a global health challenge affecting millions, with significant variations in patient characteristics and outcomes based on ejection fraction. This study aimed to differentiate between HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) with respect to patient characteristics, risk factors, comorbidities, and clinical outcomes, incorporating advanced machine learning models for mortality prediction.

Methodology: The study included 1861 HF patients from 21 centers in Jordan, categorized into HFrEF (EF <40%) and HFpEF (EF ≥ 50%) groups.

Heart failure (HF) is a prevalent and debilitating condition that imposes a significant burden on healthcare systems and adversely affects the quality of life of patients worldwide. Comorbidities such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), arterial hypertension, and diabetes mellitus (DM) are common among HF patients, as they share similar risk factors. This study aimed to identify the prognostic significance of multiple factors and their correlation with disease prognosis and outcomes in a Jordanian cohort.

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a common final pathway of various insults to the heart, primarily from risk factors including diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2. This study analyzed the clinical characteristics of HF in a Jordanian population with a particular emphasis on the relationship between DM and HF.

Methods: This prospective study used the Jordanian Heart Failure Registry (JoHFR) data.

Background: Adherence to Congestive Heart Failure with reduced Ejection Fraction (CHFrEF) guidelines is not easily attainable everywhere, particularly in countries with a high prevalence of low socioeconomic status, which includes many Middle Eastern countries. However, it is well-established that adherence to the guidelines is associated with lower mortality and morbidity rates.

Objective: Our objective is to investigate the adherence to the degree of treatment guideline in CHFrEF within a patient population in the Middle East and correlate the level of compliance both fully and partially with morbidity and mortality outcomes.

Unlabelled: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in the Middle East. We sought to study the prevalence and coexistence of 6 cardiovascular risk factors (RFs) among patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and to evaluate the impact of age and gender on the presence of multiple RFs.

Methods And Results: In this prospective, multicenter study, 2426 consecutive patients were enrolled.

Aim: This is a prospective multicenter registry designed to evaluate the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events in Middle Eastern patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). The registry was also designed to determine the predictors of poor outcomes in such patients.

Methods And Results: We enrolled 2426 consecutive patients who underwent PCI at 12 tertiary care centers in Jordan between January 2013 and February 2014.

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is highly prevalent among Middle Eastern patients admitted with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This study used data from the First Jordanian PCI Registry (JoPCR1) to determine the short- and long-term outcomes in a subgroup of diabetic patients within a large PCI population.

Methods: JoPCR1, a prospective, multicenter study of consecutive patients who underwent PCI from January 2013 to February 2014, assessed the incidence of major cardiovascular events (cardiac mortality, stent thrombosis, major bleeding events and coronary revascularization) in diabetic compared with nondiabetic patients from the index hospitalization to 1 year of follow-up.

Background: The incidence, risk factors, and outcome of stent thrombosis (ST) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Middle Eastern patients are largely unknown.

Objective: To determine the incidence, risk factors and outcome in our population.

Design: Retrospective study of a prospective multicenter registry of consecutive patients who underwent PCI between January 2013 and February 2014 (JoPCR1).

Background: The prevalence of the major conventional cardiovascular risk factors - cigarette smoking, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and dyslipidemia - among coronary heart disease (CHD) patients in the Middle East has not been studied extensively.

Methods And Results: The Jordan Hyperlipidemia And Related Targets Study (JoHARTS) evaluated the prevalence of the 4 conventional risk factors in 5000 individuals including 1692 (34%) women. CHD was present in 1534 (31%) individuals (1202 men and 332 women).
