Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates how Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is linked to negative pregnancy outcomes, comparing two sets of diagnostic criteria: the IADPSG recommendations and higher cut-off criteria.
  • A systematic review and meta-analysis of 30 observational studies were conducted, focusing on data from 2010 to 2023, using comprehensive databases for sourcing relevant studies.
  • Results showed that GDM significantly increased the likelihood of adverse maternal outcomes like cesarean section (aOR 1.24) and pregnancy-induced hypertension (aOR 1.55), as well as neonatal outcomes like macrosomia (aOR 1.38).

Sjögren's syndrome is a multisystemic autoimmune disease that mainly affects the exocrine glands, causing dryness of the eyes and the mouth as the principal symptoms. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), once regarded as genomic "junk", are now appreciated as important molecular regulators of gene expression, not least in Sjögren's syndrome and other autoimmune diseases. Here we review research into the causative roles of microRNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs) on immunological responses, inflammation, and salivary gland epithelial cell function in Sjögren's syndrome patients.

This study explores the association between phthalates and total vitamin D levels and the link between phthalates exposure and subclinical inflammation using monocyte percentage to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (MHR), utilizing three National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) survey cycles 2013-2018. This study is cross-sectional, utilizing one-time urine samples from randomly selected NHANES participants to assess phthalate metabolites. An inverse association between vitamin D and all Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) metabolites was found.

The design of novel porous solid sorbents for carbon dioxide capture is critical in developing carbon capture and storage technology (CCS). We have synthesized a series of nitrogen-rich porous organic polymers (POPs) from crosslinking melamine and pyrrole monomers. The final polymer's nitrogen content was tuned by varying the melamine ratio compared to pyrrole.
