Purpose: Welders are more likely to develop neurobehavioral disorders because of their exposure to neurotoxic metals such as manganese. This study aimed to measure the neurobehavioral performance of welders occupationally exposed to manganese at welding enterprises and its relationship with the workplace environment.

Methods: It is a comparative cross-sectional study carried out on 130 welders working at 50 welding enterprises in Menoufia governorate, Egypt, compared to 130 non-occupationally exposed controls.

Nearly 40% of the Egyptian workforce is employed in agriculture. The cotton industry relies on children and adolescents, who work seasonally, to apply pesticides to the cotton crops. Objectives: To investigate feto-maternal bone turnover in normal pregnancy and preeclampsia and to test the hypothesis whether the reported low bone mass at birth in small-for-gestational age infants is associated with decreased bone formation or increased bone resorption.

Methods: Thirty-two patients with preeclampsia (17 mild and 15 severe) and 20 normotensive women (controls) with singleton gestations in the third trimester participated in this study. Furthermore, 25 nonpregnant healthy women were chosen as nonpregnant controls.
