Article Synopsis
  • Patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) exhibit a significant postural blood pressure dip when transitioning to a recumbent position, with more severe glaucoma linked to greater dips.
  • The study measured various blood pressure parameters in 47 POAG patients both sitting and after lying down, categorizing them into different response groups based on the degree of blood pressure dip.
  • Results indicated that those with exaggerated dips had thinner retinal nerve fiber layers, suggesting that abnormal blood pressure responses could serve as an important risk factor for assessing glaucoma severity.

Purpose: To compare the functional and cosmetic outcomes of two different frontalis sling techniques for correction of severe unilateral congenital ptosis: single triangle and Fox pentagon techniques using expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) suture.

Methods: This randomized controlled trial included 60 eyes of 60 patients with severe unilateral simple congenital ptosis and poor levator function (≤4 mm). Participants were randomly assigned for either single triangle or Fox pentagon frontalis suspension using ePTFE suture.

Purpose: A distinct pattern of granulomatous anterior uveitis, with white anterior chamber (AC) granuloma, has been reported in certain endemic areas. The aim of this work was to compare the outcome of conservative treatment to surgical intervention for the treatment of large AC granulomas presenting with moderate-severe anterior uveitis. The secondary outcome is ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) characterization of AC granulomas.
