Background: Approximately 48% of patients with chronic respiratory disorders experience post-extubation respiratory failure necessitating noninvasive respiratory support or reintubation, which is linked to higher morbidity and mortality. So, it is necessary to determine patients' preparedness for weaning and extubation.

Objectives: To examine the effect of implementing respiratory care unit (RCC) ventilator weaning assessment checklist on weaning and extubation outcomes.

Human trichinosis is a serious foodborne parasitic zoonosis. Diagnosing human trichinosis is usually difficult due to the nonspecific clinical picture and the limited effectiveness of serological tests in acute infections. While ELISA can detect circulating Trichinella antigens, aiding in early diagnosis, its sensitivity may be low.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is highly prevalent in male veterans. Long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) can effectively reduce all-cause mortality in these patients, but the effects of nasal cannula dislodgement (NCD) during sleep have not been well studied.

Methods: This study sought to determine whether veterans receiving LTOT for hypoxemic chronic respiratory failure (CRF) due to COPD reported NCD while they slept and, if so, its impact on hospitalizations for COPD exacerbations.

Background: Abamectin (ABA) is considered a powerful insecticidal and anthelmintic agent. It is an intracellular product of Streptomyces avermitilis; is synthesized through complicated pathways and can then be extracted from mycelial by methanol extraction. ABA serves as a biological control substance against the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita.

Trichinosis is a serious parasitic zoonotic disease caused mainly by The used drugs for treatment of trichinosis showed limited bioavailability and high degree of resistance. Moreover, they have a very poor effect in treatment of encysted larvae. Therefore, there is a need for development of new agents which help in improving the bioavailability of the used drugs and enable them to reach different tissues.

The Nikaidoh operation continues to be used for patients with transposition of the great arteries, ventricular septal defect and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. We recently reported structural and functional changes in the aortic root during the follow-up of a patient who underwent the Nikaidoh operation. These changes necessitated re-operation.

Esophageal candidiasis (EC) is a common opportunistic infection in immunocompromised individuals, often encountered in situations such as untreated HIV/AIDS or following organ transplantation with immunosuppressant usage. While the main manifestation of esophageal candidiasis is mucosal inflammation, its progression and severe cases may lead to esophageal complications like dysphagia, odynophagia, and weight loss. One of the rare complications is esophageal stricture (ES).

With the rapid emergence and prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 worldwide, cases of COVID-19-associated nephropathy (COVAN) from collapsing focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (cFSGS) have been reported, and the associations between the two are actively being studied. Creating appropriate treatment guidelines for COVAN requires further understanding of the pathophysiology of this type of kidney injury. This case report outlines the case of a 77-year-old patient admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 infection with a subsequent renal biopsy indicating cFSGS, adding to the data exploring the relationship between COVID-19 infections, cFSGS and the associated risk factors.

Objectives: To investigate the incidence, types and pathophysiology of criss-cross pattern of the proximal pulmonary arteries in common arterial trunk and its influence on management and outcomes.

Methods: Retrospective review of all patients with common arterial trunk who underwent Aswan Truncus Operation with regard to the origin and course of the proximal pulmonary artery branches as defined by 3D segmented models pre, immediately and 1 and 2 years after operation.

Results: Between January 2019 and September 2022, 39 patients (19 males, aged 1-12 months) underwent the Aswan Truncus Operation.

Automatic seizure onset detectors (SODs) have been proposed to alert epileptic patients when a seizure is about to happen and in turn improve their quality of life. Yet, the detectors proposed in literature are complex and difficult to implement in real-time as they utilize large feature sets with redundant and irrelevant features. Hence, the aim of this work is to propose a simple and lightweight SOD that exploits two characteristics that reflect the neuronal behavior during a seizure.

Introduction: The process of weaning patients off mechanical ventilation (MV) is difficult and complex. Critical care nurses must maintain continuity of care for patients undergoing MV weaning, assess patients' overall condition, and meet patients' needs.

Objectives: The study aimed to explore clinical factors of MV weaning success and 28-day survival among patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to COVID-19.

This case represents the first report of a detected hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection following a pancreas transplantation that failed two different sofosbuvir (SOF)-based treatments. We present the case of a woman in her 30s with a history of kidney transplantation, who developed viremic symptoms 3 months after pancreas transplantation and with two subsequent negative HCV antibody tests. Further work-up revealed a positive HCV RNA test (genotype 1A, treatment naive).

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an inflammatory cholestatic disease that tends to worsen, leading to hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertension. We present a case of a middle-aged female who presented with progressively worsening generalized itch; the examination was significant only for urticarial rash and facial swelling. Investigation revealed direct hyperbilirubinemia, mildly elevated transaminase, and significant elevation of alkaline phosphatase.

Widespread weeds are a serious nuisance to farmers in any country whether they are growing agricultural or horticultural crops for the great damage they cause to the economy, human health and environment loss. Thus, it is important to measure their ecological importance, sociological characters, their contribution to the observed (dis)similarity between weed communities associated with agronomic and horticulture crops, as well as performing time series analysis and forecasting for their cumulative records. Hopefully with the aforementioned information available, it will be possible to determine the most detrimental which deserve resistance priority within a successful weed control plan, which is the aim of the current study.

Celiac artery compression syndrome (CACS) is an uncommon and poorly understood condition. Compression of the celiac artery by the median arcuate ligament causes intractable postprandial abdominal pain, weight loss, vomiting, and nausea. We present a case of a 68-year-old male who suffered recurrent severe episodes of postprandial abdominal pain associated with occasional nausea, vomiting, and elevated blood pressure.

Objectives: In an attempt to enhance applicability and outcomes of corrections of common arterial trunk, we have recently described a novel method of correction based on the concept of morphodynamism, and preserving the structure of the right ventricle. The intermediate influence of this operation on right ventricular (RV) structure and function have not been described.

Methods And Results: Thirty eight Patients (age: 1-12 months) underwent the novel repair.
