Background: Literature worldwide has linked periodontitis to preterm births and/or low-birth-weight infants. However, to our knowledge, research on this topic is scarce in India. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reports that South Asian nations, particularly India, have the highest rates of preterm births and low-birth-weight infants as well as periodontitis due to poor socioeconomic conditions.

Materials And Methods: Between January 2022 and December 2022, 50 people between the age of eight and 15 years who had treatment for cleft lip and/or palate were part of a study. A questionnaire was administered to the subjects, including questions pertaining to their general well-being and dental hygiene.
