Sac over the sac - a rare case of subcutaneous dirofilariasis over the lacrimal sac area.

Introduction: Dirofilariasis is a rare parasitic infestation in humans.

Case: A 33-year-old female from the coastal area presented with a swelling over the right lacrimal sac area. It was clinically diagnosed as a lacrimal abscess and was incised under local anaesthesia.

Ophthalmomyiasis externa caused by Oestrus ovis.

A 50-year-old male presented with foreign body sensation, pain, and redness in left eye. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy revealed tiny larvae crawling around the conjunctival sac. The larvae, numbering 13, were mechanically removed under topical anesthesia and identified under light microscope as first-stage larvae of Oestrus ovis causing ophthalmomyiasis externa.
