Breast cancer is one of the commonest malignancies in women, especially in middle-aged and elderly women. Abnormal activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin (PI3K/AKt/mTOR) pathway has been found to be involved in breast cancer proliferation. Pictilisib (GDC-0941) is a potent inhibitor of PI3K with high affinity and is undergoing phase 2 clinical trials.

Primary sinonasal melanoma is a rare disease. We present a case of melanoma in sinuses without abnormal F-FDG activity anywhere in the scanned portion of the body. In further assessment, C-choline PET/CT revealed high activity in the paranasal sinuses, skull base, and adjacent brain, in agreement with the high signal on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MRI scan, which suggested the residual tumor.

F-FDG PET/CT was performed to detect an occult malignancy in a 26-year-old woman with complicated medical history which included paroxysmal hypertension and significantly elevated tumor marker. The images revealed lesions in the thyroid, lymph nodes, and bilateral adrenal glands. Further I-MIBG SPECT/CT revealed intense activity in the lesion in the left adrenal gland, which was consistent with pheochromocytoma.

Unlabelled: Focal fatty liver disease is less common than the diffuse form and may be misdiagnosed as nodular liver lesions or even liver metastases.
