Objective: To determine the diagnostic efficacy of F-FDG PET/CT in distinguishing between pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and lung cancer in solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) in a country with a high prevalence of PTB.
Methods: Patients with SPN who underwent F-FDG PET/CT imaging were retrospectively included in the study. The final diagnosis was established by histopathology.
Breast cancer is one of the commonest malignancies in women, especially in middle-aged and elderly women. Abnormal activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin (PI3K/AKt/mTOR) pathway has been found to be involved in breast cancer proliferation. Pictilisib (GDC-0941) is a potent inhibitor of PI3K with high affinity and is undergoing phase 2 clinical trials.

In further assessment, C-choline PET/CT revealed high activity in the paranasal sinuses, skull base, and adjacent brain, in agreement with the high signal on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MRI scan, which suggested the residual tumor.

The images revealed lesions in the thyroid, lymph nodes, and bilateral adrenal glands. Further I-MIBG SPECT/CT revealed intense activity in the lesion in the left adrenal gland, which was consistent with pheochromocytoma.

Here, we report a 19 years old male, asymptomatic with liver lesions detected by ultrasound on routine examination. Further examinations with computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography/CT (PET/CT) showed multiple lesions of varying sizes on the liver, with elevated fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose ((18)F-FDG) uptake (SUVmax: 4.
