Background: Bioactive surface modifications have been proposed to enhance osseointegration and longevity of dental implants. This study aimed to systematically review and perform a meta-analysis on the effectiveness of various bioactive coatings in promoting bone integration and improving implant longevity.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted, including studies that investigated bioactive surface modifications on titanium dental implants.
Enzymes in peri-implant sulcular fluid (PISF) have emerged as essential biomarkers in the field of periodontics, providing critical insights into the health and stability of dental implants. This essay explores the significance of various enzymes in PISF, including matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), elastase, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), in assessing the local inflammatory environment and diagnosing peri-implant diseases. The analysis of these enzymes facilitates early detection of complications, personalized treatment planning, and long-term monitoring, emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

The frequency of monkeypox (mpox) cases, however, has sharply climbed globally since May 2022.
Objectives: To establish the threat of mpox in terms of the oral lesions caused in sufferers.
Objective: To synthesise the gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using Acacia catechu through biogenic synthesis and evaluate their antimicrobial efficacy against S. mutans and E. coli in vitro.

Identifying the expression of these two markers may modify the current treatment of RC. The objective of this study was to evaluate the expression of COX-2 and its relationship to K15 expression in the odontogenic epithelial cells of the RC.

Cephalometric analysis is a method for localizeing malocclusion with the facial skeleton and soft tissue structures. This study reports the results from the cephalometric analysis of Libyan adults, as a surrogate for the population of North Africa.

Aim: Through cross-sectional design, we investigated the impact of child's dental pain, caregiver's fear of SARS-CoV-2 and parental distress on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQOL) of preschoolers during the nationwide COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
Design: Preschool children self-reported their pain using Pieces of Hurt scale; caregiver SARS-CoV-2 fear was assessed using Fear of COVID-19 scale and parental distress evaluated using 4-item scale.
Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has crippled life, families and oral health care delivery. Hence, we assessed the impact of dental pain, fear of COVID-19 and psychological distress during lockdown on the oral health related quality of life of individuals visiting a tertiary dental care center during COVID-19 pandemic. Cross sectional study conducted among patients between 18 and 60 years.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the various lasers in dentistry and to investigate if it can be used for treatment of refractory periodontitis.
Methods: The study followed partially the PRISMA guidelines as it is a narrative review. A number of articles were selected from a period of 1980 to 2020 from databases, PubMed, PubMed central, Cochrane and Scopus.
Objective: This article explores the problem of developing pathologies in the retromolar region. Findings can serve a framework for disease prevention and for the improvement of the quality of life of patients. The present study aims to justify the possibility of utilizing morphometric methods to foresee problems in the eruption of third molars.

Salivary gland tumours (SGT) are relatively rare cancers characterised by striking morphological diversity and wide variation in the global distribution of SGT incidence. Given the proximity to the head and neck structures, management of SGT has been clinically difficult. To the best of our knowledge, there are no epidemiological studies on SGT from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC).
