Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out the levels of serum vitamin D in periodontitis patients with and without type 2 diabetes and to compare them with healthy subjects.

Methods: In this study, 48 periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (PDM), 53 periodontitis patients (P), and 42 controls who were in the age ranges of 30-50 years and had the entry requirements were selected. Plaque index, calculus index, modified gingival index, pocket depth, clinical attachment loss (CAL), and tooth loss were measured.

The present study aimed to assess the level of metal ions [chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), and zinc (Zn)] in the serum of patients with fixed orthodontic appliances. One hundred samples (32 males, 68 females) were collected from patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment for different periods. A reference (control) group (24 males, 16 females) who had no appliances was used to properly evaluate the changes in the level of these elements in orthodontic appliance users.

Pycnodysostosis (PDO) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by cathepsin K deficiency which plays an important role in bone metabolism. Among clinical features of this disease which are mainly caused by altered bone remodeling are craniofacial abnormalities such as hypoplastic maxilla and obtuse gonial angle which consequently lead to respiratory insufficiency in forms of pharyngeal narrowing and severe snoring. In this paper, another case of this rare disorder is presented along with a review on etiology and management issues of respiratory insufficiency in these patients.

This paper presents two cases of late developing supernumerary premolars. Case 1 is a female patient with nonsyndromic multiple supernumerary teeth located in the maxillary right premolar-molar region, maxillary left premolar region, and the mandibular right and left premolar regions.
