Background And Purpose: Rutin (RUT) is one of the phenolic compounds found in the invasive plant species, Carpobrotus edulis. Several studies have confirmed numerous pharmacological properties of RUT, including antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anticancer activities.
