Zinc finger antisense 1 (ZFAS1), a newly discovered long noncoding RNA, is expressed in various tissues and organs and has been introduced an oncogenic gene in human malignancies. In various cancers, ZFAS1 regulates apoptosis, cell proliferation, the cell cycle, migration, translation, rRNA processing, and spliceosomal snRNP assembly; targets signaling cascades; and interacts with transcription factors via binding to key proteins and miRNAs, with conflicting findings on its effect on these processes. ZFAS1 is elevated in different types of cancer, like colorectal, colon, osteosarcoma, and gastric cancer.

So, introducing new biomarkers to identify early diabetes is essential. As serum miRNAs are potentially appropriate markers, we investigated miR-26a and miR-26b expression levels in pregnant women with and without gestational diabetes.

The early detection of this cancer is particularly challenging due to the fact that symptoms tend to appear in advanced stages. It has been suggested that oxidative stress may play a role in the development of PC.

However, it suffers from low bioavailability and a short half-life. Nanoniosomes are novel drug delivery systems that may increase SIM effectiveness.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been recently considered as one of the regulatory mechanisms of the nervous system. Hence, lncRNAs may be considered diagnostic biomarkers for bipolar disorder (BD). We aimed to investigate the expression of RMRP, CTC-487M23.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBipolar disorder (BD) patients suffer from severe disability and premature death because of failure in prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment. Although neural mechanisms of bipolar have not been fully discovered, studies have shown long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) can play an important role in signaling pathways such as PI3K/AKT pathway. There has been little study on deregulated lncRNAs and the lncRNAs' mode of action in the BD.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are major genetic factors whose disruption lead to many diseases, including nervous system diseases. Bipolar disorder (BD) is a neuro-psychiatric disease with no definitive diagnosis and incomplete treatment. Regarding the role of NF-κB-associated lncRNAs in the neuro-psychiatric disorders, we examined the expression of three lncRNAs, DICER1-AS1, DILC, and CHAST, in BD patients.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFHuman epithelial growth factor receptor2 (Her2) and polymorphic epithelial mucin (MUC1) are tumor-associated antigens that have been extensively investigated in adenocarcinomas. Generally, each of these molecules was used separately for diagnosis of adenocarcinomas and as an injective vaccines in cancer therapy researches, but not in the chimeric form as an edible immunogen. In this study, Her2, MUC1, and a novel fusion structure were expressed in the seeds and hairy roots of transgenic plants appropriately.

The aim of this study was to examine the association between eNOS intron 4 VNTR polymorphism and type 2 diabetes in an Iranian population.
Methods: A total of 220 patients with type 2 diabetes and 96 healthy control subjects were recruited from the same area.
