Purpose: To critically appraise, summarize, and synthesize the evidence on the psychometric, translation and/or cross-cultural adaptation properties of the Patient-Rated Wrist (and Hand) Evaluation (PRWE/PRWHE).
Materials And Methods: Four electronic databases were searched from 1998 to February 2021. Studies addressing psychometric, translation and/or cross-cultural adaptation properties were included.
Article Synopsis
- The review focuses on the translation and adaptation quality of patient-reported outcome measures (PROs) for hand and upper extremity disabilities into Persian.
- Approximately 22 studies on 17 different PROs were examined, showing that most followed recommended steps for adaptation, with varying degrees of psychometric quality.
- Although the quality of some PROs is not very high, they are deemed sufficient for use in clinical settings.
