Background: Left ventricular dimension has the potential to impact clinical outcomes following implantation of left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). We investigated the effect of pre-implant left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) on outcomes following LVAD implantation.
Methods: Patients implanted with a continuous-flow LVAD between 2004 and 2018 at a single institution were included.
The number of hospitalizations and surgical cases of infective endocarditis (IE) are increasing. The aim of this study was to review these trends, surgical outcomes, and controversies related to IE. A search of MEDLINE of studies published between 1960 and 2018 was conducted.
