Background: The expression of β-catenin and paired-like homeobox 2B (PHOX2B) expression were assessed in Neuroblastoma (NB) patients as a diagnostic, prognostic and/or predictive markers.

Methods: Bone marrow (BM) samples of 52 NB patients were assessed for the expression of β-catenin by immunohistochemistry (IHC), and PHOX2B by real time PCR (RT-PCR), compared to 12 healthy normal controls (NC). The data were correlated to the clinic-pathological features of the patients, response to treatment and disease relapse.

Methods: The study was performed on 70 consecutive newly diagnosed pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients, of which 56 were evaluated for both bone marrow miR-128 and let-7b (all 70 for let-7b) by real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Background: The objectives of this study were to evaluate the expression of brain and acute leukemia, cytoplasmic (BAALC) gene and erythroblast transformation-specific related gene (ERG) in de novo cases of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and identify roles in disease progression and outcome.

Materials And Methods: This study included 50 newly diagnosed AML patients, along with 10 apparently healthy normal controls. BAALC and ERG expression was detected in the bone marrow of both patients and controls using real-time RT-PCR.

B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) follows a heterogeneous clinical course, for which several biological markers may predict clinical outcome. Cytogenetic aberrations are considered major prognostic indicators for predicting the survival of CLL patients. Given the difficulties in obtaining abnormal metaphases in CLL, fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) with specific probes is generally used to detect the most frequent abnormalities.
