Evidence has shown that consuming trans fatty acids (TFA) during development leads to their incorporation into the nervous tissue, resulting in neurological changes in flies. In this study, Drosophila melanogaster was exposed to different concentrations of hydrogenated vegetable fat (HVF) during development: substitute hydrogenated vegetable fat (SHVF), HVF 10 %, and HVF 20 %. The objective was to evaluate the effects of early trans fat exposure on cognition and associated pathways in flies.
