Assessment of chromite ore wastes for methylene blue adsorption: Isotherm, kinetic, thermodynamic studies, ANN, and statistical physics modeling.

This research investigates the adsorption potential of chrysotile and lizardite, two minerals derived from chromite ore wastes, for the uptake of Methylene Blue (MB) dye from waste streams. The characterization of these minerals involves XRD, XRF, FTIR, and SEM. Results confirm the dominance of polymorphic magnesium silicate minerals, specifically chrysotile and lizardite, in the samples.

Catecholamine-induced hypertensive crises: current insights and management.

Phaeochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) release catecholamines leading to catecholamine-induced hypertensive (CIH) crises, with blood pressure greater than or equal to 180/120 mm Hg. CIH crises can be complicated by tachyarrhythmias, hypotension, or life-threatening target organ damage while treatment remains undefined, often requiring co-management between endocrinologists and cardiologists. Furthermore, biochemical diagnosis of a PPGL as a cause of a CIH crisis can be difficult to identify or confounded by comorbid conditions, potentially resulting in misdiagnosis.

Development of a continuous fermentation process for the production of recombinant uricase enzyme by Pichia pastoris.

Recent studies in the biopharmaceutical industry have shown an increase in the productivity and production efficiency of recombinant proteins by continuous culture. In this research, a new upstream fermentation process was developed for the production of recombinant uricase in the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris. Expression of recombinant protein in this system is under the control of the AOX1 promoter and therefore requires methanol as an inducing agent and carbon/energy source.

Based on resource allocation theory, ignoring importance of immunity, and focus on growth and feed efficiency (FE) traits in breeding plans may lead to serious weakness in immune system performance. However, in poultry the adverse effects of selection for FE on the immune system are unclear. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to study the trade-off between FE and immunity using a total of 180 high-performing specialized male chickens from a commercial broiler line which were selected over 30 generations for growth (body weight gain, BWG) and FE (residual feed intake, RFI).

Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate non-genetic factors on CSs (cumulative survival of the birds from hatch to 5 (CS), 10 (CS), 15 (CS), 20 (CS), 25 (CS), 30 (CS), 35 (CS), 40 (CS), and 45 (CS) days of age), and estimation of the genetic parameters for CSs in crossbred population of quail.

Direct and maternal genetic effects for preinflection point growth traits and humoral immunity in quail.

Early growth traits in quails are considered as the growth performances before the inflection point which are genetically different from body weights (BW) at later stages. Moreover, in addition to growth performance, humoral immunity is moderately heritable and is considered in some breeding programs. However, estimating the direct genetic, particularly the maternal genetic correlations between growth and immunity in quail, are not studied sufficiently, which were the aims of the present study.

In this paper, a novel emotion recognition system based on the effective connectivity and the fine-tuned CNNs from multichannel Electroencephalogram (EEG) signal is presented.

Scientometric evaluation of 100-year history of Poultry Science (1921-2020).

To have a better contribution to the poultry production community, the Poultry Science Association founded journals including Poultry Science (PS) at 1921. Now, after 100 yr of publishing, PS ranks between the top 10 journals in the category of "agriculture, dairy, and animal science". One hundred years after publishing the first paper in PS, the poultry industry has been completely revolutionized.

Epidemiological features of brucellosis and factors affecting its treatment failure and relapse in Qom Province, Iran.

Background: Brucellosis is one of the major health problems in many areas of the world, especially in the Mediterranean and the Middle East regions.

Objective: To determine the epidemiological characteristics, clinical signs, and risk factors of relapse rate in patients with brucellosis, Qom Province, Iran.

Methods: A descriptive-analytic study was conducted on 410 confirmed brucellosis cases in Qom Province, central Iran, from 2015 to 2019, based on epidemiological checklists and according to the Iran Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME).

Introduction: Mental arithmetic analysis based on Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals can help understand disorders, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity, dyscalculia, or autism spectrum disorder where the difficulty in learning or understanding the arithmetic exists. To this end, the early adoption of a systematic science-based approach, as guided by quality-by-design (QbD) principles, is crucial due to the blind starting point where the same insights of an originator developer into the challenges of a given biopharmaceutical and its manufacturing process are lacking. In this study, we devised a pharmaceutical QbD-guided approach to undertake the biosimilar development of Pembrolizumab (Keytruda®), the ace of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) in terms of approved indications and market sales, and its manufacturing process development.
