Purpose: Prospective, noncomparative (nonrandomized, uncontrolled), consecutive interventional case series study--to evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal pegaptanib sodium in the treatment of choroidal neovascularization due to age-related macular degeneration in treatment-naive patients.

Material And Methods: 38 eyes of 38 patients were treated with intravitreal pegaptanib. All angiographic subtypes of lesions were qualified to the treatment.

Unlabelled: The aim of the study was to assess the change in lipid and protein fraction patterns in patients with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) when compared against a control group.

Material And Method: Sample/research group: 37 nonexudative AMD patients; 14 men at the age of 52-80 and 23 women at the age of 50-80.

Control Group: 15 people; 7 men at the age of 50-72 and 8 women at the age of 50-69.
