Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that increasingly affects people every year. It is known that with its progression and poor management, metabolic changes can lead to organ dysfunctions, including kidneys. The study aimed to combine Raman spectroscopy and biochemical lipid profiling, complemented by machine learning (ML) techniques to evaluate chemical composition changes in kidneys induced by Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

The herbivore (kingdom Animalia) and the pathogen (kingdom Fungi) are considered pests and biotic stressors of (chestnut trees). The impact of both pests on the accumulation of secondary metabolites in chestnut leaves was investigated. Specifically, the interactive effect of both pests on metabolite accumulation and their potential role in enhancing the resistance of chestnut trees to biological stress was the focus of this study.

Allergic diseases are highly prevalent, and they can exert a significant influence on the patients’ physical and mental well-being, thus affecting the quality of their lives and society as a whole. The aim of this study was to evaluate parental knowledge about allergens, allergy symptoms, and treatment of allergies, and to identify problems with adherence to an elimination diet and the underlying difficulties. Twelve kindergartens and the parents of 1350 preschoolers took part in the first stage of the study.
