Background: Vulvovaginal candidosis is one of the most frequent infections of the female genital system. It is believed that 75% of women in reproductive life have suffered from vulvovaginal candidosis at least once in their life.

Objective: To describe demographics and clinical features in women with vaginal colonization with Streptococcus agalactiae attended in a gyneco-obstetric hospital.

Methods: Descriptive study of 118 women with isolation of Streptococcus agalactiae in cervical swab during January 1992 to December 1998. Major patient features were obtained in retrospective revising their chart and were classified in demographic, gyneco-obstetrical and clinical characteristics.
