Current clinical recommendations suggest that continuous treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis with biologic agents is more effective than intermittent treatment in terms of achieving remission and maintaining it. Intermittent treatment, however, may provide an alternative approach in patients unwilling or unable to maintain a continuous regimen, such as those who would prefer a 'treatment vacation' after achieving long-term remission, those who require treatment cessation owing to adverse events, and where insurance arrangements do not provide sufficient cover for continuous treatment. We conducted a literature search of PubMed to identify publications reporting data on the efficacy and safety of intermittent treatment with biologic agents in adults with psoriasis, specifically the use of inhibitors of tumour necrosis factor (adalimumab, certolizumab pegol, etanercept and infliximab), interleukin (IL)-12/IL-23 (ustekinumab), IL-23 (guselkumab) and IL-17 (brodalumab, ixekizumab and secukinumab).

Introduction: Severe atopic dermatitis (AD) treatment is an unmet need, given the limited efficacy and safety of classical systemic treatments (CSTs). Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks the signaling of the interleukins that mediate the inflammatory response involved in AD.
Methods: the clinical response of a group of patients from Argentina with severe AD and insufficient response and/or toxicity to CSTs who were treated with dupilumab before commercial availability was analyzed.
A normolipemic patient with diffuse plane xanthomas, IgG monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance, low levels of C4, and systemic inflammatory symptoms is presented. Delay from disease onset to diagnosis is discussed.

These lesions occur preferentially in children and young adults and usually develop as dermal or subcutaneous nodules in the hands or palms.
Methods: We report two cases of cutaneous sclerosing perineurioma in young patients without stigmata of neurofibromatosis.
Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in the arterial wall has been proposed to enhance the retention of apoB-containing lipoproteins, an early event in atherosclerosis. As the neointima is considered the primary site of lipid accumulation in atherogenesis, the arterial expression and location of LPL was investigated in distinct experimental models of neointimal formation in normolipidemic rabbits and rats. Neointima elicited by balloon aortic denudation or raised beneath an anatomically intact endothelial layer by placing a silastic collar around the common carotid artery, both showed a striking LPL immunostaining that mostly co-localized with neointimal smooth muscle cells.

The contractile activity of the rat prostate was registered in vivo by means of a video recording system. An increase in tone was registered in control animals after electrical stimulations were applied to hypogastric ganglion. Similar result was obtained after norepinephrine or acetylcholine administration.
