Campylobacter jejuni is a microaerophilic pathogen representing one of the major causes of bacterial enteritis in humans. The oxidative stress response after exposure to paraquat, a strong oxidising agent, was analysed by two-dimensional protein electrophoresis and Maldi-ToF mass spectrometry. Oxidative stress and redox-related proteins were overexpressed: FldA flavodoxin and a pyruvate-flavodoxin oxidoreductase encoded by cj1476c.
