β-Phenylethylamine (β-PEA) is a trace amine with chemical proximity to biogenic amines and amphetamines. It is an endogenous agonist of trace amine-associated receptors (TAARs) that acts as a neuromodulator of classic neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. At high concentrations, β-PEA contracts smooth muscle, and a role for TAARs in these responses has been postulated.

Objective: Up to 60% of patients with bipolar disorder develop a substance use disorder during their lifetime. The purpose of this paper was to assess the impact of substance use disorders on depression recovery among bipolar patients randomly assigned to different psychotropic medications and psychosocial interventions. We hypothesized that patients with a comorbid substance use disorder would benefit less from psychotherapy regardless of treatment intensity/length compared to patients without a comorbid substance use disorder.

In general, colloids provide increased cutaneous permeation of drugs. Still, skin interaction and main pathways for drug diffusion may vary depending on system and formulation characteristics. The knowledge of how different colloidal systems interact with biological membranes and the formulation impact on delivery is especially relevant for drugs that can be encapsulated in multiple nanosystems, as voriconazole (VOR).

Hospitalization, despite its duration, is likely to result in emotional, social, and academic costs to school-age children and adolescents. Developing adequate psychoeducational activities and assuring inpatients' own class teachers' collaboration, allows for the enhancement of their personal and emotional competences and the maintenance of a connection with school and academic life. These educational programs have been mainly designed for patients with long stays and/or chronic conditions, in the format of Hospital Schools, and typically in pediatric Hospitals.

Photocatalysis was recognised as a suitable process for the photoabatement of atmospheric pollutants. The photooxidation mechanism on TiO has been widely studied. However, recent studies demonstrated that the very often-assumed photooxidation intermediated by the hydroxyl radical cannot explain all the experimental observations.

Introduction: Respiratory muscle dysfunction, being a common cause of weaning failure, is strongly associated with prolonged mechanical ventilation (MV) and prolonged stay in intensive care units. Inspiratory muscle training (IMT) has been described as an important contributor to the treatment of respiratory muscle dysfunction in critically ill patients. Its effectiveness is however yet controversial.
