Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to determine if low-dose tadalafil (5 mg) was more effective than tamsulosin (0.4 mg) in helping patients expel kidney stones after extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy.
  • - It was a rigorous trial involving 250 patients, who were split evenly to receive either medication for up to 30 days, assessing the rate of stone expulsion and the time taken for this process.
  • - The results showed no significant difference in stone expulsion rates or time to expulsion between the two medications, and tadalafil had a higher discontinuation rate due to side effects, indicating it is not superior to tamsulosin.
