A McPherson 225 vacuum uv spectrometer has been interfaced with an IBM 1130 computer. The electronic interface, consisting mainly of integrated circuits, translates computer commands for a dc synchronous stepping motor which controls the grating position. Intensity information is recorded in digital form on a magnetic disk and may be plotted on a Calcomp plotter.
