Background: The largest organ, skin, acts as the body's first line of protection against various environmental threats and harmful substances, which may be carcinogenic. The widespread acceptance of conventional chemotherapy has been hindered by its high cost and severe side effects, which have encouraged the need for alternatives. The phytoconstituents produced by plants promise to prevent skin carcinogenesis by targeting multiple steps.

Heerfordt-Waldenström Syndrome.

Heerfordt's-Waldenström syndrome is a very rare presentation of neurosarcoidosis characterized by parotid gland enlargement, facial palsy, anterior uveitis and fever. World over only few cases of this syndrome have been reported. We present such a case of Heerfordt-Waldenström syndrome.

Rare Interaction of Warfarin and Digoxin in a Case of Digoxin Toxicity.

Warfarin is known to interact with many drugs and can lead to serious consequences. We report a case of 52 years old female patient from Himachal Pradesh. During hospital stay patient developed coagulopathy in form of INR above 10 and bradycardia with ventricular rate on ECG with digoxin level of 3.

Scrub Typhus Presenting as Acute Cerebellitis.

Scrub typhus is known to present with varied presentation including involvement of central nervous system. We present a case who presented with fever and features of isolated cerebellitis. Serum showed IgM antibodies to scrub typhus by ELISA.

A study on the etiology of cirrhosis of liver in adults living in the Hills of Himachal Pradesh, India.

Aim: Cirrhosis of the liver is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in India. Currently no study exists on the disease from Himachal Pradesh, India. The purpose of this study was to evaluate epidemiological data on the etiological profile of cirrhosis of the liver in adults in a tertiary care hospital in a northern hilly state of Western Himalayas.

Neurobrucellosis: an often forgotten cause of chronic meningitis.

We report a 26-year-old man of neurobrucellosis who presented with intermittent fever and headache for 2 years, sensori-neural hearing loss with cerebellar ataxia. He responded well to a combination of antimicrobials with significant clinical improvement.

Effect of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc root extracts on behavioral and radiology changes in arthritic rats.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of petroleum ether, chloroform, and methanol root extracts of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc (Family: Zingiberaceae) on behavioral and radiology aspects of Freund's Complete Adjuvant (FCA)-induced monoarthritis in left ankle joint of rats using open-field test. Traditionally, Curcuma zedoaria root has been used as anti-inflammatory and antiarthritic drug. Behavioral aspects include latency time to explore, ambulatory, rearing, grooming, urination, and defecation.
