There continuous to be widespread misuse of nomenclature used to described vascular anomalies, This is even more pronounced in the case of intra-osseous lesions. Bone involvement is more common with vascular malformations and extremely rare in haemangiomas. An accurate diagnosis is mandatory for tailored management and often based on a thorough history, clinical examination, and cross-sectional imaging.

Superficial Temporal Artery Aneurysm: Case Report and Review of Literature.

Superficial temporal artery (STA) aneurysms are painless, pulsatile masses that infrequently result from blunt trauma to the side of the head. Only a small number of them have been reported in the literature. We describe the diagnosis and management of a 22-year-old man who had fallen from his bicycle, resulting in an STA pseudoaneurysm, and review the pertinent literature.

Tumour seeding after fine-needle aspiration and core biopsy of the head and neck--a systematic review.

Although fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and core needle biopsy are essential diagnostic investigations of lumps in the head and neck, seeding along the needle track has long been a concern, and various factors have been implicated. We therefore searched the Medline database for relevant English language papers published between 1970 and 2014, excluding those on the thyroid and parathyroid, and systematically reviewed them to assess the risk. In the 610 articles reviewed we found only 7 reports of seeding (5 after FNAC and 2 after core needle biopsy).

Management of early stage cutaneous Merkel cell carcinoma of the head and neck.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare but aggressive skin cancer of neuroendocrine origin. As a result, few large studies have been published, and we know of even fewer on disease of the head and neck alone. The most appropriate way to manage patients with early local disease and no sign of metastases neck is controversial.
