Background: Leveraging non-invasive ultra-high field, 7 Tesla (7T) MRI, with increased signal-to-noise ratio and improved soft tissue contrast afforded by 7T allows us to accurately map tissue microstructure. We aim to use 7T MR Elastography (MRE), 7T Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), 3T amyloid-PET, and Preclinical Alzheimer Cognitive Composite (PACC) score to determine the relationships between these metrics in a cohort of older individuals with either normal cognition (CN), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or Alzheimer's Disease (AD).

Gulf War Illness is a chronic multi-symptom disorder with severe cognitive impairments which may be related to glutamate excitotoxicity and central nervous system dysfunction. Introduction: Emerging evidence in depression suggests that blood-brain barrier (BBB) breakdown and elevated inflammatory cytokines in states of persistent stress or trauma may contribute to the development of symptoms. Signal-to-noise ratio afforded by ultra-high field MRI may aid in the detection of maladaptations of the glymphatic system related to BBB integrity that may not be visualized at lower field strengths.

While COVID-19 is primarily considered a respiratory disease, it has been shown to affect the central nervous system. Mounting evidence shows that COVID-19 is associated with neurological complications as well as effects thought to be related to neuroinflammatory processes. Due to the novelty of COVID-19, there is a need to better understand the possible long-term effects it may have on patients, particularly linkage to neuroinflammatory processes.

Removing artificial food coloring (AFC) is a common dietary intervention for children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), but has not been tested in young adults. This pilot study examined the effects of AFC on ADHD symptoms and electroencephalography (EEG) in college students with and without ADHD. At baseline, control and ADHD participants completed the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS), simple and complex attention measures, and resting-state EEG recordings.
