Spatial transcriptomics (ST) examines gene expression within its spatial context on tissue, linking morphology and function. Advances in ST resolution and throughput have led to an increase in scientific interest, notably in cancer research. This scoping study reviews the challenges and practical applications of ST, summarizing current methods, trends, and data analysis techniques for ST in neoplasm research.

In this study, we examined the external validity of a novel algorithm, previously validated in a single geographic region, using structured electronic health record (EHR) data to identify phenotypes of clinicians' attention to elevated body mass index (BMI) and weight-related comorbidities.
Methods: We extracted structured EHR data for 300 randomly selected 6- to 12-year-old children with elevated BMI seen for well-child visits from June 2018 to May 2019 at pediatric primary care practices affiliated with Yale.
A renal angiomyolipoma (AML) is a rare, usually benign tumor consisting of smooth muscle cells, abnormal blood vessels, and fat tissue. Although AMLs are often asymptomatic, they can present with flank pain, hematuria, and a palpable mass in the abdomen. A significant complication involves rupture and hemorrhage into the retroperitoneal cavity, which can be life-threatening.

Most are acquired arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) while the rest are congenital or idiopathic arteriovenous malformations (AVM).

Here, we comprehensively analyzed the association between all HDAC family members and several clinicopathological and molecular traits of solid tumors across 22 distinct tumor types, focusing primarily on cancer stemness and immunity. To this end, we used publicly available TCGA data and several bioinformatic tools (i.

We used pre-intervention data from the Improving Pediatric Obesity Practice Using Prompts (iPOP-UP) trial. We included children aged 3-12 years with BMI ≥85th percentile at well-visits in 2019-2021 at 84 primary care practices in 3 US health systems in the Northeast, Midwest, and South.

The WMA agent and polyolefin additive were introduced to the binders at rates of up to 0.3% and 2%, respectively.

PVR measurement in the nonhealthcare setting is a valuable opportunity for remote monitoring of voiding dysfunction patients. We hypothesized that patient self-measurement of PVR using a smart-device portable ultrasound system with artificial intelligence would demonstrate high reliability, strong agreement with provider measurement, and be preferred over provider measurements.

In this population, health disparities persist, and high-risk drinking has been increasing. Effective bilingual and culturally adapted brief interventions are needed to identify and reduce disease burden.

The purpose of the analyses was to determine changes in the rheological properties of asphalt binder as a result of technological processes characteristic of hot and warm mix asphalt technology. Three asphalt binders with similar penetration but varying degrees of polymer modification were tested: 50/70, 45/80-55 polymer-modified bitumen, and 45/80-80 highly modified bitumen.

The investigated processes and mixture components were evaluated for their efficacy in producing highly performing asphalt mixtures with decreased mixing and compaction temperatures. The investigated binders included two paving grades, two polymer modified asphalt binders, and a highly modified asphalt binder. The bio-flux additive was produced from rapeseed methyl esters in an oxidation reaction in the presence of a metal catalyst and organic peroxide.

Methods: Using a difference-in-differences approach, we examined change in weight-for-length among infants in GWCC before versus after implementation of the intervention compared with infants in individual well-child care (IWCC) over the same time-period. In parallel, we conducted semi-structured interviews in English and Spanish with caregivers who participated in the intervention to explore their perspectives and analyzed transcripts via the constant comparative method to identify salient themes.
The present paper investigates the effects of simultaneous mechanical foaming using water and fluxing with a bio-derived agent on the properties of three distinct asphalt binders: 50/70 paving-grade bitumen, 45/80-55 polymer-modified bitumen, and 45/80-80 highly modified asphalt binder. The testing involved classical tests for assessing binder consistency (penetration at 25 °C, ring and ball softening point, Fraass breaking point, and dynamic viscosity) as well as performance tests (high and low Superpave critical temperatures and multiple stress creep recovery). The tests included assessment directly after asphalt binder foaming and were repeated after a 14-day period.

Background And Aims: Psychiatric symptoms are frequently reported in Wilson disease (WD); however, systematic assessments with validated measures are lacking.
Objective: We aim to report the prevalence and clinical correlates for major depressive disorder (MDD) as resulting from a multisite international WD registry.
Methods: All patients enrolled in the WD registry received structured psychiatric evaluations (Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 scale, Perceived Stress Scale), laboratory tests, hepatology, and neurological assessments.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the extent to which Bright Bodies, a high-intensity, family-based pediatric weight management intervention, improved BMI for participants since publication of the randomized controlled trial establishing efficacy in 2007 and to describe adaptations to the program.
Methods: For participants enrolled from 2008 to 2018, linear mixed-effects models were used to estimate monthly change in BMI expressed as percentage of the 95th percentile (%BMIp95) during participants' first beginner-level program.
Results: The sample included 396 youth individuals (mean age: 11.
Background: Arabic-speaking refugees are the largest group of refugees arriving in the United States since 2008, yet little is known about their rates of healthcare access, utilization, and satisfaction after the end of the Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) period.
Methods: This study was a cross-sectional observational study. From January to December 2019, a household survey was conducted of newly arrived Arabic-speaking refugees in Connecticut between 2016 and 2018.
Objective: We examine factors associated with changes in posttraumatic stress symptoms for children following completion of an early and brief, trauma-focused mental health treatment that engages children together with their caregivers, with the child as the identified patient.
Method: The Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), a brief (5-8 session) trauma-focused mental health treatment designed to reduce trauma symptoms in the aftermath of traumatic experiences in children aged 7 years and older. CFTSI has been widely disseminated in Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) and community treatment clinics nationally.
Objective: Injuries account for a large portion of the global burden of disease, representing over 10% of all disability adjusted life years (DALYs). This study analyzes the economic impact of injury for those experiencing moderate-to-severe injury in Beirut, Lebanon. It further examines the impact of different demographic and socioeconomic factors on trauma-specific quality of life 1-2 years following injury.

Because reclaimed cement concrete, unlike natural aggregates, is expected to have a residue of the non-hydrated cement covering the aggregate grains, which may result in a secondary cementation process after its application in a road base, this avenue was explored by tracking the time evolution of the compressive strength of the final material. The tests were performed using two mixtures, i.

An initial step towards reducing this gap is identifying the prevalence, co-morbidities, and context of these disorders in different clinical settings and exploring opportunities for intervention. This study evaluates the prevalence and correlates of depression and substance use disorders among adults presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) of a major national hospital in East Africa.
