A study was conducted to evaluate periodontal health among 603 thermal power station workers in South India, following a pilot study with 52 mine workers to establish sample size.
Results indicated that approximately 30% of workers had pockets ranging from 4-5 mm, with a small fraction experiencing severe periodontal issues, while nearly 70% had calculus, showcasing significant dental health challenges among this population.
