The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 raised concerns about the potential for interspecies transmission, particularly among domestic animals. We evaluated the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in domestic cats from various sites in North America. A total of 216 serum samples collected between December 2019 and February 2022, were analyzed using four different enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs), including a commercial surrogate virus neutralization test (sVNT), a commercial double antigen test (dN ELISA), and two in-house developed indirect ELISAS based on receptor-binding domain (RBD iELISA) and the nucleocapsid (N iELISA) proteins, respectively.

Background: Most patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) do not benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment. However, the phase II study CheckPAC (NCT02866383) showed a clinical benefit (CB) rate of 37% and a response rate of 14% in patients with metastatic PDAC receiving stereotactic radiation therapy and nivolumab with or without ipilimumab. Translational studies were initiated to characterize the patients who would benefit from this treatment.

Background: Production of native antigens for serodiagnosis of helminthic infections is laborious and hampered by batch-to-batch variation. For serodiagnosis of echinococcosis, especially cystic disease, most screening tests rely on crude or purified Echinococcus granulosus hydatid cyst fluid. To resolve limitations associated with native antigens in serological tests, the use of standardized and highly pure antigens produced by chemical synthesis offers considerable advantages, provided appropriate diagnostic sensitivity and specificity is achieved.
