Differential lncRNA profiles of blood plasma-derived exosomes from systemic lupus erythematosus.

Introduction: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) dysregulation is key in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), but the role of exosomal lncRNAs in SLE has not been well studied. We elucidated the profiles of plasma exosomal lncRNAs expression in patients with SLE and predictd their potential clinical significance in SLE.

Methods: In the screening stage, six newly diagnosed and untreated patients with SLE and six healthy controls were examined by high-throughput sequencing technology, and differential exosomal lncRNA profiles were constructed.

Effects of oral calcium on reproduction and postpartum health in cattle: a meta-analysis and quality assessment.

Postpartum blood calcium (Ca) concentration is related to the reproduction and health of cattle. Oral calcium supplements were given to dairy cows after calving to increase blood Ca concentration and reduce the risk of hypocalcemia. However, studies have shown that oral Ca has different effects in preventing disease.

Skeletal muscle index together with body mass index is associated with secondary osteoporosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the associations of body mass index (BMI), fat mass index (FMI), skeletal mass index (SMI) and secondary osteoporosis (OP) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: The bone mineral density (BMD) at sites of the femur neck (Neck), total hip (Hip) and lumbar vertebrae 1-4 (L1-4) was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. The skeletal muscle index, body fat percentage and mineral content were measured by biological electrical impedance for calculating BMI, FMI and SMI.

Neurophysiological biomarkers for depression classification: Utilizing microstate k-mers and a bag-of-words model.

Microstates are analogous to characters in a language, and short fragments consisting of several microstates (k-mers) are analogous to words. We aimed to investigate whether microstate k-mers could be used as neurophysiological biomarkers to differentiate between depressed patients and normal controls. We utilized a bag-of-words model to process microstate sequences, using k-mers with a k range of 1-10 as terms, and the term frequency (TF) with or without inverse-document-frequency (IDF) as features.

Immunization Against Inhibin Promotes Fertility in Cattle: A Meta-Analysis and Quality Assessment.

Superovulation and embryo transfer techniques are important methods in cattle breeding. Combined with traditional superovulation protocols, immunization against inhibin can further improve follicular development and embryo yield. The aim of this study is to determine the efficacy of immunization against inhibin in improving the fertility of cattle through meta-analysis and to provide better clinical veterinary practice guidance.

Antitumor activities of Grifola frondosa (Maitake) polysaccharide: A meta-analysis based on preclinical evidence and quality assessment.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The antitumor effects of Grifola frondosa/maitake polysaccharide (GFP) have been reported in many preclinical studies, especially in vivo experiments. The present meta-analysis aimed to provide an in vivo evidence and theoretical basis for future clinical trials by assessing the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of GFP in tumor treatment.

Materials And Methods: English and Chinese databases were examined to include animal experiments to study the antitumor activity of GFP.

[Effects of fire intensity on leaf functional traits and functional diversity of Larix gmelinii community].

Fire is an important ecological factor in boreal coniferous forest, which directly affects plant taxonomic and functional diversity and consequently forest succession. We analyzed the changes of soil nutrient contents, leaf functional traits, taxonomic and functional diversity of a Larix gmelinii community under different fire intensity levels (low, medium, heavy). The forest stand had been naturally recovered for 12 years in Yakeshi area.

This study examined the association between cancer and Alzheimer's disease (AD) by a quantitative meta-analysis of cohort studies. Studies were identified by searching PubMed database through 1966 to December 2013 using the terms "Alzheimer's disease", "neoplasm", and "cancer". Six studies met the inclusion criteria in the overall meta-analysis.

hrf2 gene is a member of the harpin-encoding gene family of rice-pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola. In our previous studies, we observed that harpin(Xooc) could elicit hypersensitive cell death in non-host plants, induce disease and insect resistance in plants, and enhance plant growth.
