Background: Female renal transplant recipients (RTR) are at high risk of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related anogenital premalignancies and cancer. The aim of this study was to estimate the incidence of cervical intraepithelial lesions (IL) and HPV infection, and their associated factors, in Mexican RTR.
Methods: This is a prospective cohort study conducted between January 2011 and December 2017.
The Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use of the World Health Organization have been updated recently. These criteria constitute a guideline for the selection of family planning methods appropriated for women and men with known medical conditions or personal characteristics of medical relevance. The guidelines last updating incorporates recommendations for the use of a new emergency contraceptive pill and three long-acting hormonal methods, and revises some previously established recommendations.
