A dual strategy for synthesizing crystal plane/defect co-modified BiOCl microsphere and photodegradation mechanism insights.

Because of different atomic arrangements and/or different exposed atoms on different surfaces of crystalline particles, different physical and chemical properties can be resulted and exhibited. In this work, we prepared BiOCl with {110} crystal facet by introducing urea as the structure-directing agent, and constructed oxygen vacancies (OVs) in BiOCl (110) to form BiOCl (110)-OV. Control of exposure surface can improve photocatalyst activity and the defect level caused by OVs can improve charge separation and light absorption, thereby further enhancing the production of free radicals and the activation of pollutants.

Design of Z-scheme g-CN/BC/BiFeO photocatalyst with unique electron transfer channels for efficient degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride waste.

High electron transfer rates and a higher number of electron transfer active sites play important roles in inhibiting the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. In the experiments described in this article, the g-CN/BC/BiFeO composite material was prepared to use biochar (BC) as the conductive channel. The presence of BC significantly increases the electron transfer rate due to its excellent electrical conductivity and can provide more electron transfer active sites.

[Nonsense mutations and genetic compensation response].

The genetic compensation response (GCR) was firstly described in zebrafish to explain the phenotypic discrepancies between gene-knockout and gene-knockdown, whereby a deleterious mutation, but not gene-knockdown, can lead to the transcriptional upregulation of related genes, which can assume the function of the mutated gene. This phenomenon was also found in other model systems including mice and Arabidopsis. However, the underlying molecular mechanism of the GCR remains elusive until two papers were published in Nature on April 3, 2019: one from our lab and the other from Stainier's lab.

Chronic epididymitis and leptin and their associations with semen characteristics in men with infertility.

Problem: The aim of this study was to ascertain the associations between serum leptin levels and chronic epididymitis and semen parameters in patients with infertility.

Method Of Study: A total of 846 patients who were diagnosed as primary infertility were enrolled and divided into four groups. The general information, blood lipids, reproductive hormones, and semen parameters were collected.

[The Detection of Raman Spectra on Dissolved Gas in Transformer Oil and Its Spectral Linear Model Analysis].

Raman spectroscopy gas detection technology which uses a single wavelength laser detection of gas samples without contact and loss is suitable for dissolved gas detection in oil-immersed transformers. Combined with the features of Raman spectral lines, the analysis of the detection mechanism in Raman spectroscopy technology has been made. Raman spectral lines have been presented in the expression of the convolution of Lorentz function and Gaussian function, which shows preferable Raman spectrum peak linear outline basic characteristics.

[Fasudil improves erectile function of hypertensive rats].

Objective: To investigate the effect of fasudil, an inhibitor of Rho kinase, on the erectile function of hypertensive rats and its action mechanism.

Methods: Twenty 12-week-old healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into groups A (control), B (hypertension) and C (fasudil treatment). After establishment of the hypertension model, group C received intraperitoneal injection of fasudil at 30 mg/(kg x d), while A and B normal saline only.
