Despite the extensive application of chondroitin sulfate (CS), a type of biological macromolecule, in various fields, including biomedicine, cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals, research into its potential anti-obesity properties remains limited. In this study, the impacts of CS on obese mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD) were investigated. The results showed that supplementing CS effectively controlled body weight gain and fat accumulation (perirenal fat and epididymal fat) compared to the control group of obese mice.

The patient is a 10-month and 21-day-old girl who began to show developmental delays at 3 months of age, with severe language developmental disorders, stereotyped movements, and easily provoked laughter. Physical examination revealed fair skin and a flattened occiput. At 10 months of age, a video electroencephalogram suggested atypical absence seizures, with migrating slow-wave activity observed during the interictal period.

A highly specific and sensitive rapid two-signal assay was developed for the detection of Salmonella typhimurium in foods of animal origin. The invA gene of Salmonella was used as the biorecognition element and recombinase-assisted amplification (RAA) technology for signal amplification. By utilizing the specific recognition and efficient trans-cleavage activity of CRISPR/Cas12a, point-of-care testing (POCT) for S.

Methods: miR-650 expression was determined in human melanoma WM115 and A-375 cells. WM115 cells were transfected with miR-650 mimic or mimic control.
Background: In sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE), the activation of microglial cells and ensuing neuroinflammation are important in the underlying pathological mechanisms. Increasing evidence suggests that the protein Piezo1 functions as a significant regulator of neuroinflammation. However, the influence of Piezo1 on microglial cells in the context of SAE has not yet been determined.

In this paper, a kind of lignin-based vitrimer polymer (LBP) containing dynamic boronic ester bonds was prepared by a "sulfhydryl-epoxy" click reaction and etherification reaction. The results show that the rigid segment EP-EL (lignin-based epoxy resin) and BDB (2,2'-(1,4-phenylene)-bis-[4-mercapto-1,3,2-dioxaneborane]) with benzene ring structure can impart tensile strength (20.

Here, ionic liquid gels (DI-PR) were prepared from readily available materials. A dynamic covalently bonded oxime-carbamate was prepared from polycaprolactone diol, isophorone diisocyanate and dimethylethyleneglyoxime, followed by addition of the "rigid-flexible" cross-linking agent rutin to chemically cross-link the polymer chains and afford the ionic liquid gels, DI-PR.

Porous polydopamine nanosphere (PPDA) is applied as a matrix for immobilization of LDL, and the imprinted layer is formed by dopamine acting as a functional monomer. Since imprinted cavities exhibit shape memory effects in terms of recognizing selectivity, the PPDA-MIPs exhibit excellent selectivity toward LDL and a substantial binding capacity of 550.

The approach relies on the gene as a biorecognition element and its amplification through PCR and RAA. In the presence of the target gene, Cas12a, guided by crRNA, recognizes and cleaves the amplification product, initiating the HCR.

The large consumption and waste of meat and meat products means that there is a need for safe and effective preservation methods. Furthermore, toxicological aspects of chemical preservation techniques related to major health problems have sparked controversies and have prompted consumers and producers to turn to natural preservatives.

In this investigation, chitosan was initially employed as a colorimetric enhancer, leading to the development of a pH-sensitive indicator film that was enhanced in colorimetry. The characteristics of this indicator film were thoroughly analyzed, and the mechanism responsible for the increased sensitivity of anthocyanin within the chitosan matrix, as indicated by the color response, was elucidated.

Objective: To analyze the clinical and genetic characteristics of three Chinese pedigrees affected with Genetic epilepsy with febrile seizures plus (GEFS+).
Methods: Three GEFS+ probands and their pedigree members presented at the Children's Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected as the study subjects. Clinical data of the pedigrees were collected.
Herein, we introduced a liquid-metal/polymerisable deep eutectic solvent (LM/PDES) system to the carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and acrylic acid solution to prepare a double-cross-linked CMC-polyacrylic acid (PAA)-LM/PDES superabsorbent hydrogel via graft crosslinking polymerisation for 5 min. FTIR and XRD provided evidence for the coordinate crosslinking between Ga and carboxy groups in the CMC-PAA-LM/PDES gel structure and chemical crosslinking between CMC and PAA components. The pore size of the obtained hydrogels gradually decreases with the increase of LM-AA/PDES content.
