The tropism of adenoviruses (Ads) is significantly influenced by the binding of various blood factors. To investigate differences in their binding, we conducted cryo-EM analysis on complexes of several human adenoviruses with human platelet factor-4 (PF4), coagulation factors FII (Prothrombin), and FX. While we observed EM densities for FII and FX bound to all the species-C adenoviruses examined, no densities were seen for PF4, even though PF4 can co-pellet with various Ads.

An in-house-developed target amplicon sequencing by next-generation sequencing technology (TB-NGS) enables simultaneous detection of resistance-related mutations in (MTB) against 8 anti-tuberculosis drug classes. In this multi-center study, we investigated the clinical utility of incorporating TB-NGS for rapid drug-resistant MTB detection in high endemic regions in southeast China. From January 2018 to November 2019, 4,047 respiratory specimens were available from patients suffering lower respiratory tract infections in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, among which 501 were TB-positive as detected by in-house IS6110-qPCR assay with diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of 97.

The fragile paper is treated to improve the stability and appearance of the paper artifact, such as washing, lining, deacidification, and reinforcement. During the above treatments, paper documents inevitably make contact with water directly, leading to the appearance change, stability decrease, and migration or fading of anionic water-sensitive dyes, which are seriously harmful to information security. Background And Objectives: To investigate whether working with intrusive images and the use of imagery processes would be beneficial to treating depression, an imagery-based intervention (imagery rescripting, IR) was compared with a more commonly used verbal-based technique (cognitive restructuring, CR). The study aimed not only to test the efficacy of IR as a brief modular treatment for depression, but to explore whether such experiential use of imagery would alleviate the abstract-evaluative, verbal processes of rumination and worry.

Methods: Forty-one participants diagnosed with clinical depression and who also reported intrusive images underwent one assessment session of imagery properties before they were randomly assigned to an IR group or to an active control group of CR.

Objectives: We sought to identify clinical characteristics that would negatively predict shunt failure, thus potentially obviating the need for further diagnostic workup or extended periods of observation. This paper introduces a new genetic fuzzy based paradigm for developing scalable set of decentralized homogenous robots for a collaborative task. In this work, the number of robots in the team can be changed without any additional training.
