This study analyzed the relationship between the oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) and various types of carbon, such as POC, DOC, and DIC, in the Y3 seamount area in the Western Pacific. The results indicated that the OMZ was located at 200-1000 m and a threshold of 100 μmol/kg was established for this area of the Western Pacific. The DOC and POC changed drastically out of OMZ while they were relatively stable within the OMZ due to the low oxygen.

There is an urgent necessity to devise efficient tactics to tackle the inevitable development of resistance to osimertinib, which is a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor used in treating EGFR-mutant nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study demonstrates that combining itraconazole with osimertinib synergistically reduces the proliferation and migration, enhances the apoptosis of osimertinib-resistant cells, and effectively inhibits the growth of osimertinib-resistant tumors. Mechanistically, itraconazole combined with osimertinib promotes the proteasomal degradation of sonic hedgehog (SHH), resulting in inactivation of the SHH/Dual-specificity phosphatase 13B (DUSP13B)/p-STAT3 and Hedgehog pathways, suppressing Myc proto-oncogene protein (c-Myc).

The treatment of large bone defects remains challenging due to the lack of spatiotemporal management of the immune microenvironment, inflammation response and bone remodeling. To address these issues, we designed and developed a nanoparticle/hydrogel hybrid system that can achieve the combined and sequential delivery of an anti-inflammatory factor (IL-10) and osteogenic drug (icariin, ICA).
