Lower back pain is quite harmful to a person’s quality of life. It is mainly associated to skeletal-muscle injury and intervertebral disc displacement. Actions directed to avoid the burden of excessive weight, acquire exercise habits, preserve an ideal body weight, and procure postural hygiene, should be encouraged in children and adolescents.

It is necessary to improve knowledge about rare diseases in Mexico. We provide some recommendations for medical education inside and outside the classroom, as well as to improve its detection.

[New oral manifestations of Branchio-oculo-facial syndrome. Case report].

The branchio-oculo-facial syndrome is a dominant autosomic condition with variable expressivity that affects particularly the facial and neck structures by an inadequate development of the first and second branchial arch. It is characterized by malformations of eyes and ears, with distinct facial characteristics. It is associated with alterations in TFAP2A gene.
