Turkish Adaptation of the Health Improvement Profile for the Evaluation of Physical Well-Being of Individuals With Severe Mental Illness.

This study aimed to adopt the use of the Health Improvement Profile in the Turkish context and to report the findings obtained during its pilot implementation. This descriptive cross-sectional study consisted of 280 individuals, and data were collected using the Patient and Disease Characteristics Form and the Health Improvement Profile between May and December 2019 ın community mental health centers. Impact of nurse-patient interaction levels on nurses' humanistic practice: A cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational study.

Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the levels of nurses-patients interaction, as well as the humanistic practices in the field of nurse´s care.

Method: This cross-sectional and correlational study was conducted with 291 nurses in Istanbul between May-August 2022. The los datos were collected using the Personal Information Form, Caring Nurse-Patient Interaction-Short Form (CNPI), and Humanistic Practice Ability of Nursing (HPAN).

The effectiveness of the flip technique in vertical ductal stenting.

Psychometric properties of the pediatric ward nurses' caring self-efficacy scale: A Turkish validity and reliability study.

Purpose: To translate the 51-item Pediatric Ward Nurses' Caring Self-Efficacy Scale into Turkish and to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the scale in the Turkish population.

Design And Methods: The study was conducted with 308 nurses working in the pediatric/pediatric wards of two hospitals in Turkey between September 2021 and January 2022. A Personal Information Form, the Pediatric Ward Nurses' Caring Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Nursing Profession Self-Efficacy Scale (NPSES) were used to determine the care self-efficacy levels of the research sample.

The effect of myocardial dysfunction on mortality in children with septic shock: a prospective observational study.

Pediatric septic shock is defined as progressive multi-organ dysfunction and cardiovascular dysfunction accompanying sepsis. Studies showing myocardial dysfunction associated with pediatric septic shock are very limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between myocardial functions calculated by echocardiography, disease severity, and clinical outcomes in children with septic shock.

Evaluation of Arrhythmia Prevalence, Management, and Risk Factors in Patients with Transcatheter and Surgically Closed Secundum Atrial Septal Defects.

Objective: Atrial septal defect (ASD) accounts for 6-10% of all congenital heart disorders. Secundum ASD closure can be performed surgically or percutaneously. We aimed to identify the various arrhythmias that occur before, during, and after the procedure and evaluate their management.

Beyond the Covid-19 pandemic: remote learning and education inequalities.

Unlabelled: Is remote learning associated with education inequalities? We use PISA 2018 data from five European countries-France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom-to investigate whether education outcomes are related to the possession of the resources needed for distance learning. After controlling for a wide set of covariates, fixed effects, different specifications and testing the stability of coefficients, we find that remote learning is positively associated with average education outcomes, but also with strong and significant education inequalities. Our results show that negative gaps are larger where online schooling is more widespread, across countries, locations, and school types.

Nonlinear Control of Fouling in Polyethylene Reactors.

Fouling formation in reactor vessels poses a serious threat to the safe operation of the industrial low-density polyethylene (LDPE) polymerization. Fouling also degrades the polymer quality and causes productivity loss to some extent. In this work, neural Wiener model predictive control (NWMPC) is introduced to address the fouling concern.

The Evaluation of Troponin I Levels and Myocarditis in Children with COVID-19: A Pediatric Single-Center Experience.

Children with COVID-19 usually show milder symptoms than adults; however, a minority of them may have cardiac involvement. We aimed to identify the role of troponin I levels that may predict early cardiac involvement in children with COVID-19. A single-center retrospective study was conducted to evaluate hospitalized children diagnosed with COVID-19 between March 11, 2020, and December 31, 2021.

Associations between knowledge level and attitudes towards cyber-dating abuse and dating violence in nursing students.

Background: Dating violence is an increasing issue among young people and affects them psychologically. It also includes characteristics like controlling and/or monitoring. Cyber-dating abuse is dating violence characterized as harassing another person in a romantic connection via texting or online emails to control, threaten, or stalk them.

Which Findings Make multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children Different from the Pre-Pandemic Kawasaki Disease?

Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children associated with COVID-19 infection attracted attention because some features overlapped with Kawasaki disease. And due to these overlapping features with Kawasaki disease, it has become difficult to diagnose both disorders. Therefore, this study focused on the differences between the patients diagnosed with MIS-C after COVID-19 and Kawasaki patients analyzed, particularly during the pre-pandemic period.

University students' attitudes toward gender roles and infertility: A descriptive and correlational study.

Purpose: To examine the relationship between university students' attitudes toward gender roles and infertility.

Design And Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was conducted with 743 university students between September and December 2020. Data were collected using a personal information form, the Gender Roles Attitude Scale, and the Attitudes Towards Infertility Scale through online forms.

Direct Polypropylene and Polyethylene Liquefaction in CO and N Atmospheres Using MgO Light and CaO as Catalysts.

Fully-printed metamaterial-type flexible wings with controllable flight characteristics.

Insect wings are an outstanding example of how a proper interplay of rigid and flexible materials enables an intricate flapping flight accompanied by sound. The understanding of the aerodynamics and acoustics of insect wings has enabled the development of man-made flying robotic vehicles and explained basic mechanisms of sound generation by natural flyers. This work proposes the concept of artificial wings with a periodic pattern, inspired by metamaterials, and explores how the pattern geometry can be used to control the aerodynamic and acoustic characteristics of a wing.

The effectiveness of motivational messages to intensive care unit nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives: To examine the effect of motivational messages on optimism, hopelessness, and life satisfaction of intensive care nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Study Design: This is a multicentre, randomized controlled, open-label study.

Research Methodology/design: The study was conducted with a total of 87 nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care units of three hospitals in Istanbul.

Examination of the relationship between smartphone addiction and cyberchondria in adolescents.

In this descriptive and correlational study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between adolescents' smartphone addiction and cyberchondria. Data were obtained from 384 adolescent high school students in Istanbul between December 2020 and January 2021, using a Personal Information Form, the Smartphone Addiction Scale, and Cyberchondria Severity Scale. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with the students.

Ste2p Under the Microscope: the Investigation of Oligomeric States of a Yeast G Protein-Coupled Receptor.

Oligomerization of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) may play important roles in maturation, internalization, signaling, and pharmacology of these receptors. However, the nature and extent of their oligomerization is still under debate. In our study, Ste2p, a yeast mating pheromone GPCR, was tagged with enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP), mCherry, and with split florescent protein fragments at the receptor C-terminus.

The Relationship between University Students' Beliefs toward Mental Illness and Stigmatization.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the beliefs toward mental illness and stigmatization of health sciences faculty students.

Method: This descriptive study was carried out with the students of health sciences faculty in Istanbul. The sample population was composed of 792 students who agreed to participate in the study.

Endovascular treatment of aortic coarctation with a novel BeGraft aortic stent in children and young adults: a single-centre experience with short-term follow-up results.

Objectives: We present our experience and outcomes with the BeGraft in the treatment of aortic coarctation in a predominantly paediatric population.

Methods: This study includes a retrospective analysis of patients who had Begraft aortic stent implantation between 2018 and 2020 from a single centre.

Results: The BeGraft aortic stent was used in 11 patients (7 males, 4 females) with a median age of 14 (13-21) years and a median weight of 65 (46-103) kg.
