The title compound, [RuCl(CHP)] or [RuCl(dppm)] (dppm = bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)methane, CHP) crystallizes as two half-mol-ecules (completed by inversion symmetry) in space group ( = 2), with the Ru atoms occupying inversion centers at 0,0,0 and 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, respectively. The bidentate phosphane ligands occupy equatorial positions while the chlorido ligands complete the distorted octa-hedral coordination spheres at axial positions. The bite angles of the phosphane chelates are similar for the two mol-ecules [(P-Ru-P) = 71.

Introduction: Geriatric patients (GeP) often experience increased morbidity and mortality following traumatic insult and as a result, require more specialized care due to lower physiologic reserve and underlying medical comorbidities. Motorcycle injuries (MCCI) occur across all age groups; however, no large-scale studies evaluating outcomes of GeP exist for this particular subset of patients. Data thus far are limited to elderly participation in recreational activities such as water and alpine skiing, snowboarding, equestrian, snowmobiles, bicycles, and all-terrain vehicles.

Matching crop varieties to their target use context and user preferences is a challenge faced by many plant breeding programs serving smallholder agriculture. Numerous participatory approaches proposed by CGIAR and other research teams over the last four decades have attempted to capture farmers' priorities/preferences and crop variety field performance in representative growing environments through experimental trials with higher external validity. Yet none have overcome the challenges of scalability, data validity and reliability, and difficulties in capturing socio-economic and environmental heterogeneity.

Article Synopsis
  • Myocardial infarction survivors face high mortality rates despite better treatments; accurate risk assessment is necessary for improving their care.
  • A study evaluated the fragmented QRS complex as a potential risk predictor among 609 hospitalized patients and tracked them for 5 years.
  • Although 46.8% of patients had fragmented QRS complexes, the findings showed no significant difference in overall or cardiac mortality compared to those without fragmentation, but patients with fragmentation did experience larger heart damage.

A male preterm infant with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection developed progressive respiratory distress but was considered too high risk for surgical repair because of his critical condition. We demonstrated that percutaneous transhepatic stent implantation for portosystemic shunt creation is a feasible bridging procedure when surgery is not possible.

The surgical treatment of degenerative spondylolisthesis with accompanying spinal stenosis focuses mainly on decompression of the spinal canal with or without additional fusion by means of a dorsal spondylodesis. Currently, one main decision criterion for additional fusion is the presence of instability in flexion and extension X-rays. In cases of mild and stable spondylolisthesis, the optimal treatment remains a subject of ongoing debate.

This manuscript presents a method for reproducing sound fields actively by using a vibrating submerged structure as the field reproduction source, with the target sound field to be reproduced defined in the frequency domain using the acoustic brightness approach. To balance the predetermination of a mono- or multi-zone target sound pressure field and the control effort required, singular value decomposition of the structural-acoustic system matrix is proposed. The dependency of the radiation efficiency into the target zone on the singular modes representing source and pressure modes is investigated using a wavenumber-domain approach.

Background: Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) is among the most commonly performed orthopaedic procedures. Several factors-including age, sex, and tear severity-have been identified as predictors for outcome after repair. The influence of the tear etiology on functional and structural outcome remains controversial.

Introduction: The obesity epidemic plagues the United States, affecting approximately 42% of the population. The relationship of obesity with injury severity and outcomes has been poorly studied among motorcycle collisions (MCC). This study aimed to compare injury severity, mortality, injury regions, and hospital and intensive care unit length of stay (LOS) between obese and normal-weight MCC patients.

Article Synopsis
  • This study explored how dietary salt intake affects blood vessel function and oxidative stress in pregnant women during the later stages of pregnancy.
  • Pregnant women were divided into three groups based on their salt intake: normal, high, and very high, and several measures of blood vessel function and biomarkers of stress were taken.
  • Results showed that women in the very high salt group had poorer blood vessel function and higher oxidative stress markers, indicating that excessive salt may be harmful during pregnancy.

Background: An increasing number of hypertensive persons travel to high altitude (HA) while using antihypertensive medications such as beta-blockers. Nevertheless, while hypoxic exposure initiates an increase in pulmonary artery pressure (Ppa) and pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), the contribution of the autonomic nervous system is unclear. In animals, beta-adrenergic blockade has induced pulmonary vasoconstriction in normoxia and exaggerated hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (HPV) and both effects were abolished by muscarinic blockade.

Background: The gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPr) is highly overexpressed in several solid tumors, including treatment-naïve and recurrent prostate cancer. [Ga]Ga-RM2 is a well-established radiotracer for PET imaging of GRPr, and [Lu]Lu-RM2 has been proposed as a therapeutic alternative for patients with heterogeneous and/or low expression of PSMA. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the expression of GRPr and PSMA in a group of patients diagnosed with castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) by means of PET imaging.

Background: Many rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorders (RGNDs) are characterized by intellectual disability (ID), severe cognitive and behavioral impairments, potentially diagnosed as a comorbid autism spectrum disorder or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Quality of life is often impaired due to irritability, aggression and self-injurious behavior, generally refractory to standard therapies. There are indications from previous (case) studies and patient reporting that cannabidiol (CBD) may be an effective treatment for severe behavioral manifestations in RGNDs.
