Peptidomimetic design for non-canonical interfaces is less well established than for α-helix and β-strand mediated protein-protein interactions. As progesterone concentrations are greater in animals with high than low AFC, we tested the hypothesis, if the resulting improved uterine environment will lead to improved conceptus elongation and endometrial response to interferon tau.

Common errors in statistics and methods.

As statistical reviewers and editors for BMJ Paediatrics Open (BMJPO), we frequently see methodological and statistical errors in articles submitted to our journal. To make a list of these common errors and propose suitable corrections, and inspired by similar efforts at other leading journals, we surveyed the statistical reviewers and editors at BMJPO to collect their 'pet peeves' and examples of best practices.(1, 2) We have divided these into seven sections: graphics; statistical significance and related issues; presentation, vocabulary, textual and tabular presentation; causality; model building, regression and choice of methods; meta-analysis; and miscellaneous.

Mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells represent a unique unconventional T cell population important in eliciting immunomodulatory responses in a range of diseases, including infectious diseases, autoimmunity and cancer. This innate-like T cell subset predominantly express CD8 in humans. Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (TPP) is a rare disorder characterized by muscle paralysis, thyrotoxicosis, and hypokalemia. It commonly manifests as paralysis of both proximal and distal upper and lower limbs, and if left untreated, may progress to respiratory failure or cardiac arrhythmias. It is most common in Asian males and is frequently precipitated by strenuous exercise, high carbohydrate diet, stress, corticosteroid therapy, or alcohol.

This study investigated the influence of group size (individual, groups of five, and 20) on the response of common minnow to visual cues created by vertical black and white stripes over time. The stripes were displayed on a monitor either at one end of an experimental tank, while the other was uniform white, or both ends simultaneously.
